L. Lamar Youmans is a Board Certified Doctor of Optometry. He received his training from the University of Houston College of Optometry. His externship was accomplished at Castle Air Force Base Hospital in Atwater, California.

A native Floridian, Dr. Youmans has been practicing optometry in LaBelle since July 1990.

Thomas A. Parrish is a Licensed Optician. He has been in the optical field for over twenty years. He also has over ten years background experience as a registered nurse.

Mr. Parrish, his wife, Becky and their three children Joshua, Ryan and Timothy are native Floridians and reside west of LaBelle.

Beatrice is a Paraoptometric assistant, and has worked in the optometry field with Family Eye Care for 7 years. She is one of our assistants and performs diagnostic testing for patients prior to the doctor's examination. Beatrice also provides patient education and instruction on the use of contact lenses, as well as assisting the doctor in minor procedures. Learning new technology, continuing her education and assisting patients with their eye care needs is her top priority.

Belinda joined Family Eye Care in 2000 and started out as an optometric assistant. She obtained her certification with the Commission ParaOptometric Certification board as a Certified ParaOptometric (CPO) in 2001 and also became a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA). She is working toward the highest level of the ParaOptometric certification, and has maintained her certification by completing hours of continuing education to deliver the highest level in performing diagnostic procedures and services of the newest eye care technology and health care. She enjoys the great work ethic, services and care the doctors and team provides. Those things are what have kept Belinda here for the long haul.

Since 2000, Belinda has worked in various areas of the practice and has moved on to become the Clinical coordinator and acquired the duties of clinical supervisor helping conduct patient care efficiently and effectively. She continues her primary duties in assisting the doctors by performing diagnostic test, contact lens fitting and dispensing, entering medical history, clinical findings and other eye health information for our doctors.

Belinda’s goal is to assist Dr. Parrish and Dr. Youmans to deliver the very best personal and professional eye healthcare possible.

Carol, our Office Assistant and Certified Paraoptometric, joined our Family Eye Care team in September 2000. She is here to help make the business aspects of your visit as simple and hassle free as possible. She handles insurance billing and claim filing and follows up with insurance companies to ensure proper processing. Her experience and knowledge allows her to answer questions you may have regarding your insurance benefits and she will gladly help you to utilize your health insurance most effectively. Carol performs many customer service related tasks including, but not limited to, appointment scheduling, check out and contact lens ordering. Carol is a life long resident of LaBelle and enjoys spending time with her family, reading, photography and camping

Special Testing Assistant

Juli, Office Assistant (Patient Care Coordinator/ Scheduling Coordinator), has been a member of Family Eye Care team since June 2006. It is usually her voice you hear confirming your appointments by phone and the first smiling face you see as you walk through our door. Juli handles the initial patient registration and is responsible for ensuring that patient paperwork is completed and entered into our database properly. Juli handles most incoming phone calls and ensures that patient calls are forwarded to the correct department as needed. Juli offers excellence in appointment scheduling and contact lens ordering. She informs patients their contact lenses are ready and handles rescheduling of missed appointments to insure the health of their eyes. Juli also helps to assure accuracy of insurance claims so your visits are paid in a timely manner.

Natalie joined Family Eye Care in February 2006. She is a graduate of LaBelle High School, has attended Edison College, and is currently enrolled in Hillsborough College, where she is completing her Opticinary Degree. Natalie is a Certified Paraoptometric and is also CPR certified. At Family Eye Care you will find Natalie in the Optical Center where she fits, services, fabricates and dispenses eyewear. Natalie resides in LaBelle with her husband. She enjoys shopping, going to the beach and spending time with family and friends. Stop by and see her for all of your optical needs!

Tammy joined Family Eye Care in 1988 and is dedicated to providing outstanding personal care for patients during their examination process. She has also passed the Certified Paraoptometric Assistant examination earning the title “CPOA” given by the American Optometric Association. Paraoptometrics are health personnel who assist optometrists in providing the highest level of vision care to patients, by staying current on skills, procedures and patient care. She looks forward to working with you to make your experience with our practice the best.
